NEWS: Europe introduces new law to strengthen asset seizure and victim rights

The European Parliament today (Wednesday) approved new legislation aimed at strengthening the freezing and confiscation of criminal assets within the EU. 

The law will also crack down on cases where confiscation is evaded with the help of a third person and allow confiscation in certain cases where conviction is not possible, for example in cases of illness or death of a suspect.
