SQUIRE Patton Boggs has hired barrister Adina Ezekiel as a partner in its Government Investigations & White Collar (GIWC) practice in London.
She joins from Paul Hastings, where she worked in the Investigations and White Collar team. Senior associate Tom Hickey will also move from Paul Hastings on 6 October.
Ms Ezekiel said: “Squire Patton Boggs has a first-rate global GIWC group.
“The firm’s international network and its investment in developing its expertise across a broad spectrum of financial crime and regulatory areas make it the right place to build a white collar practice.”
Kevin McCart, leader of the GIWC practice, said: “In the past three years, our team in London has established itself as a leading white collar practice. He added it is “able to advise on and handle the most complex investigations and compliance risks”.
“We’ve been seeking experienced senior lawyers with the right kind of skills to build on that growth,” he said. “We are delighted to have practitioners of Adina’s and Tom’s calibre join us.”

Hannah Laming, European head of the group, said demand for financial crime expertise is rising. “Our investigations and white collar work is growing significantly. Corporates and individuals face an increasingly challenging criminal and regulatory environment globally,” she said.
“Adina and Tom are highly regarded specialists in this space. Clients will benefit from their extensive experience in criminal and public law. Including acting on a number of the biggest SFO (Serious Fraud Office) prosecutions in the UK in recent years.”
Ms Ezekiel advises on bribery, corruption, sanctions, money laundering and extradition. She practised as a criminal barrister for 22 years. She also serves as a Recorder in the Crown Court.
Mr Hickey focuses on bribery, corruption, fraud, money laundering, sanctions and tax evasion. He also has experience in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors.
