US Authorities charge first Russian Oligarch over sanctions violation as US AG warns the Justice Department warns it will use ‘every available tool’ to find those who enable the Russian regime

US authorities have charged Russian Oligarch, Konstantin Malofeyev, with sanctions violation in the first criminal proceedings brought since Russian conflict began in Ukraine.

Russian investor Mr Malofeyev is also founder of a pro-Putin media organisation, and has been accused of breaching sanctions imposed on him in response to Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea.
