WARNING: ECB supervisors tell banks to scrutinise transactions by all Russian and Belarusian clients

Supervisors from the European Central Bank (ECB) have instructed some EU banks to scrutinise transactions by all Russian and Belarusian clients, including EU residents, to prevent sanctions evasion. 

Officials from the ECB are thought to have told certain banks to keep a close eye on EU-based Russian and Belarusian clients, as Russia’s elite face intense sanctions.
