Economic crime not a ‘priority’ for law enforcement; House of Commons Treasury committee calls for single law enforcement agency with ‘clear responsibilities’ to tackle economic crime

A report by the House of Commons Treasury select committee UK has found economic crime “seems not to be a priority for law enforcement” with the number of agencies responsible for tackling financial crime “bewildering.”

The UK should also consider the establishment of a  “single law enforcement agency with clear responsibilities and objectives to fight economic crime.”
