Former Latvian PM believed to be facing charges for ‘large scale fraud and money laundering’; former transport minister also implicated in government contract scam

Both a former prime minister and former government minister in Latvia face criminal charges as a long-running probe into the awarding of a government digital TV contract continues.

Although exact details are unconfirmed, a spokesperson for the Latvian state prosecutor has said one of the two is under suspicion of “large-scale fraud and money laundering”.
