‘Are you related to Eamon Ryan?’- Revolut asked customer if he was linked to politician, blocked his account for not answering

In an unexpected consequence of the EU’s 4th AML directive, an Irish user of the UK-based banking app Revolut was asked by the company if he was related to an Irish politician — all because they shared the same surname.
