  Andorran Police joins Europol’s secure communication network

  On 15 September 2026, Europol and the Andorran Police have signed a Memorandum of Understanding connecting Andorra to Europol’s Secure Information Exchange Network Application (SIENA), further strengthening international law enforcement cooperation. Through this connection, the Andorran Police will be able to securely share law enforcement information with Europol and a wide network of European and international partners.

    The Financial Supervisors Academy (FSA), the training and academic arm of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), will conclude its External Training Programme with a workshop dedicated to one of the most significant developments shaping the financial services sector: Artificial Intelligence (AI). Over the course of the programme, participants have had the opportunity to engage with a series of specialised training sessions covering a variety of topics relevant to today’s evolving financial services landscape. The final workshop will focus on the growing impact of AI on trading and operational systems and the implications for governance, risk management, operational resilience and regulatory compliance

  Financial regulator bans former law firm owner from financial services

  The FCA has banned Nurul Miah, also known as Neil Mia and Neil Miah, from working in financial services.

  The FCA acted after the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) found that Mr Miah, who was a non-legal manager at Kingly Solicitors Limited, dishonestly caused or allowed more than £28m of client money to be taken from client accounts without permission between April 2019 and July 2020. The SRA also found that more than £10m of client money was missing and had been used by Mr Miah for his own benefit. Mr Miah was approved by the FCA in 2016 to work in senior management roles at an unconnected firm, Oracle Consultants Ltd. The FCA has concluded that Mr Miah’s actions showed he lacked the honesty and integrity needed to work in financial services.
