LATEST: National Crime Agency plans to bolster FIUs after PM pledges to make the UK ‘hardest place in the world’ for villains to ‘make and export money’

By Elizabeth Hearst for AMLi

The UK’s National Crime Agency is expected to beef up Financial Intelligence Unit’s resources, following the publication of the UK’s government’s Beating Crime Plan launched in July.

In an emailed statement, the NCA said it would boost resources to the FIU, after the report was launched earlier this year, backing up claims by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who said the plan aims to “make the UK the hardest place in the world for international villains to make and export money”.
