RESEARCHERS have identified clear visual clues that can help people recognise AI-generated faces – and say just five minutes of training can make a major difference.

A team from the UK universities of Reading, Greenwich, Leeds and Lincoln tested 664 participants on their ability to tell real faces from those generated by computer software called StyleGAN3.

  • Rockland County Man Pleads Guilty To Defrauding Investors In Investment Scheme

    United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Jay Clayton, announced that SOLOMON LICHTENSTEIN pled guilty today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Victoria Reznik to securities fraud in connection with a scheme to defraud investors in two investment vehicles he managed and promoted.

    “Solomon Lichtenstein solicited and received millions of dollars from friends, relatives, and members of his community on the back of false statements and misrepresentations regarding his investment qualifications and strategy, track record, and returns,” said U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton.  “When investment advisers abuse the trust of their clients and use New Yorkers’ hard-earned money for their personal benefit, our Office will hold them criminally accountable.”

    Europol has successfully coordinated a large-scale operation targeting organised crime networks involved in waste and pollution crime. The global operation, code-named ‘Custos Viridis’, took place between January and December 2025 on five continents, with Europol working alongside partners from 71 countries and numerous international organisations.

  • NSW man jailed in WA for role in cross-border drug trafficking operation

    A New South Wales man has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment in Western Australia for his involvement in a crime syndicate trafficking illicit drugs and cash between Sydney and Perth. The Perth District Court sentenced the man, 35, on 6 March, 2026, for one count of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the commission of an offence, namely trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, namely methamphetamine, contrary to sections 11.2(1) and 302.2(1) of the Criminal Code (Cth).
