JERSEY does not intend to make its beneficial ownership register open to the public, despite pressure from UK officials, the jurisdiction has said.
Ian Gorst, the minister with oversight for the island’s financial services industry, said that Jersey can “stand alongside the UK” on certain financial crime issues. He pointed to the jurisdiction’s battle with Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich over his frozen assets.
