HENNIE Verbeek-Kusters, an Executive Board member at the EU’s AMLA agency, will deliver a keynote address at the International Anti-Financial Crime Summit (IAFCS) in London.
Verbeek-Kusters, who holds a crucial leadership role in the EU’s Anti-Money Laundering Agency, will join more than 60 speakers at the Hilton Tower Bridge on October 7.
Previously, Ms Verbeek‑Kusters led the FIU Netherlands since 2008. She has also twice served as Chair of the Egmont Group of FIUs. AMLA appointed her to its Executive Board in February.

The announcement comes just days after Giles Thomson, president of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), confirmed he will deliver the opening address at the conference.
This is the second time a FATF president has opened the AML Intelligence‘s IAFCS: Mexico’s Elisa de Anda Madrazo delivered a keynote speech at the 2024 edition.
Ms Verbeek‑Kusters and Mr Thomson have both vowed to tackle fraud and improve the implementation of the risk-based approach in their new roles.
IAFCS 2026
Dubbed the ‘Davos of financial crime’ by many officials, IAFCS 2026 summit comes as Britain and the EU’s agenda on anti-financial crime, anti-money laundering and fraud enters a defining moment.

Ms Verbeek‑Kusters and Mr Thomson will join a stellar list of speakers including:
- Beth Harris, Head of Financial Crime, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
- Sebastiano Laviola, Head of the Anti-money laundering Supervision and Regulation Unit, Banca d’Italia
- Rory Corcoran, Directorate Coordinator INTERPOL’s Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre, INTERPOL General Secretariat
