NEWS: EU dropped social media scam liability over ‘legal uncertainty’, says MEP

THE EU decided not to make social media companies liable for refunding scam victims as the move risked causing “years of legal uncertainty”, a top MEP has said.

However Lídia Pereira, a Portuguese MEP, said new rules will still force tech giants to pay for refunds in certain cases.
