NEWS: Ireland probes gambling on gangland figure in election amid money laundering concerns

IRELAND’S Finance Minister and Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister) has instructed officials to probe gambling on a byelection, over suspected instances of money laundering.

It came after reports that multiple accounts placed suspicious bets on Gerry Hutch, the gangland figure known as ‘The Monk’, to lose the vote.
