TURKISH state-run lender Halkbank has hired Ernst & ‌Young to review its compliance with U.S. sanctions and AML policies, lawyers for the bank said in a court filing.

Hiring an expert to conduct the review was a condition of the ‌bank’s agreement with the U.S. Justice Department, announced this week, to end federal prosecutors’ long-running criminal prosecution of the bank over allegations it helped Iran evade American economic sanctions.
