CANADIAN fugitive Ryan Wedding and several associates allegedly used large volumes of crypto to launder cocaine-trafficking proceeds, according to a U.S. indictment.

Prosecutors also claim that Wedding also organized the murder of a witness who was prepared to testify against him.

    Today, Friday 2 October, the UK Government has revoked and remade the specifications of 2 vessels under the Russia sanctions regime. This corrects an error in the Statement of Reasons relating to these vessels. The sanctions imposed, shipping and trade sanctions, remain in force for both vessels. Revoked and Respecified Vessels:

  • AFP finalises foreign bribery investigation into company following $9 million settlement

    The AFP has finalised a foreign bribery investigation into SMEC International Pty Ltd (SMEC), after SMEC and the AFP agreed to a settlement payment totalling $9 million (pecuniary penalty) under the provisions of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (Cth) (POCA). The settlement does not involve any admission of liability by SMEC. The AFP investigation, which is part of Operation Amorce, examined conduct involving SMEC across several jurisdictions, including Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
