NEWS: Canada’s FINTRAC warns banks of child sexual exploitation risk signals

FINTRAC, Canada’s financial intelligence agency, has warned that sexual extortion of children for profit is on the rise.

Sexual extortion occurs when offenders threaten to release sexual images or videos unless victims pay money or send more images. In a new alert, FINTRAC urged banks and other financial instiutions entities to watch for transactions and patterns linked to extortion or child sexual exploitation.
