INSIDER THREAT: Banks increase measures to protect customers from rogue employees

CANADIAN banks are tightening controls to stop insider threats amid concerns of employees misusing access to customer data.

Banks now use surveillance tools, real-time access monitoring and regular staff training to prevent breaches. Regulators and police say insider abuse is one of the fastest-growing financial crime risks.
