LATEST: AUSTRAC plans to use new powers for crypto ATM crackdown

AUSTRALIA’S government plans to give AUSTRAC new powers which could allow it to restrict or ban high-risk financial products such as crypto ATMs.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke announced the proposal on Thursday. He said it would help AUSTRAC target products used to move money anonymously across borders.
