ALEXANDER Resch, head of Europol’s financial crime unit is to speak at ‘International Anti-Financial Crime Summit’ (IAFCS) 2025 in London on October 22, it was announced today.
Mr Resch’s will address several key areas of the Summit, including PPPs (public private partnerships) in fincrime and cross-border cooperation in AFC.
His speech is set to be one of the highlights of IAFCS2025, which takes place at the Leonardo Royal at Tower Bridge on October 22.
It was also announced today that Interpol is sending one of its economic crime leaders to the Summit as a speaker. Interpol will use the Summit to showcase the agency’s I-Checkit system which allows banks, fintechs and VASPs improve their CDD and screening systems.
Some 500 high-ranking tech, finance and banking figures will attend the Summit. Early Bird registration is now open HERE.

Alexander Resch bio
Mr Resch is a senior police officer from the Bavarian State Police in Germany. He currently serves as Head of the Financial Crime Unit at Europol’s European Financial and Economic Crime Centre (EFECC), a position he assumed in September 2023.
Here, he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on tackling money laundering, corruption and sanctions enforcement. The unit is also engaged in asset-tracing and recovery.
Additionally, his responsibilities also encompass strategic stakeholder engagement. This includes fostering cooperation with Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs), Asset Recovery Offices and customs agencies across Europe.
Mr Resch also drives engagement with the financial service industry as part of Europol’s Financial Intelligence Public Private Partnership (EFIPPP).
Previously, he has held various strategic, operational, and investigative roles within the German police and internally.
Prior to his current appointment, he was based with Interpol’s General Secretariat in Lyon. Here, he worked for several years in the Financial Crime Unit. He held a similar portfolio to his current position at Europol.
IAFCS 2025 details
IAFCS 2025 will feature a stellar line-up of speakers drawn from across the UK, EU, US and Middle East.

The Summit will discuss the most topical issues facing key decision makers in Banking, Fintech, FSIs and Gaming.
