NEWS: Ireland proposes forcing Big Tech firms to vet online ads for scams

IRELAND is leading a push within the European Union to make Big Tech platforms check financial advertisers for legitimacy, in a bid to curb online scams that cost Europeans billions of euros each year.

The proposed rule would require platforms like Google and Meta to confirm that advertisers are registered financial service providers before accepting their ads.
