NEWS: Green light to better data exchanges between EU police authorities

SUPER TUESDAY: A "jumbo trilogue" in Brussels on Tuesday is likely to shape the future of AMLA. It's proposed both the Council and the Parliament would be involved in picking the location of the authority by each allocating 27 points or votes.

Today, the Council adopted a regulation on the automated search and exchange of data for police cooperation.

The new law will improve the existing framework – often referred to as Prüm I – which already allows law enforcement authorities to consult the national databases of other member states as regards DNA, fingerprint and vehicle registration data.
