NEWS: Swedbank Latvia pays $3.4M settlement to OFAC for Crimea sanctions violations

Swedbank Latvia has paid a settlement of $3.4M (€3.1M) to the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for 386 apparent sanctions violations on Crimea.

The violations occurred between 2015 and 2016 when a Swedbank Latvia customer used the e-banking platform from an IP address in Crimea to make payments to persons in Crimea through US correspondent banks.
