NEWS: UK regulators breath sigh of relief as government stands down ‘call in’ powers

The UK government has dramatically withdrawn plans to allow MPs to “call in” City regulators, as part of its Big Bang 2.0 post-Brexit blueprint.

The decision has marked a victory for both the Bank of England (BoE) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which had previously warned against introducing call-in powers.
