A Dutch MEP has urged Switzerland to do more to combat tax evasion in the country.
Chairman of the European Parliament’s sub-committee on tax reform, Paul Tang, conceded that although Switzerland has made progress with corporate tax reforms, the country still has a long way to go when it comes to tax avoidance.

On 9 June 2026, AMLA held its first conference at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt am Main. Under the theme “Building Trust, Enhancing Integrity: A New Chapter in the EU's Fight Against Financial Crime,” AMLA brought together a broad range of partners involved in Europe’s response to money laundering and terrorist financing, including supervisors, financial intelligence units, the private sector, law enforcement, academia, and EU bodies and international institutions.
The programme included keynote speeches and three thematic panels with discussions focusing on key topics shaping the AML/CFT agenda. In addition to over 360 guests attending from all 27 Member States and beyond the EU, hundreds of participants followed the conference online via the livestream.
Press conference: new edition of the Europol mapping report

On 26 June 2026 at 10:00, a press conference will be held to present the key findings of the report "Decoding the EU’s Most Threatening Criminal Networks: Issue 2 – The Blueprint of Criminal Opportunism." This event will be organised jointly by the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, the European Commission, and Europol.
During the press conference, speakers will discuss the evolving threat landscape of organised crime in the EU, highlighting the resilience, adaptability, and opportunistic strategies of the most threatening criminal networks (MTCNs). The report provides an in-depth analysis of how these networks operate, their connections, and the systemic vulnerabilities they exploit.
