By Alisha Houlihan for AMLi

More than one in ten of the Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) ever incorporated in the UK contain “three of more money laundering red flags”, according to new research.

Anti-corruption group Transparency International UK has identified that more than 21,000 LLPs, which represent 14% of the total LLPs set up between 2001 and 2021 in the UK, share almost “identical characteristics” with those known to have been used in major money laundering schemes.
