NEWS: MEP warns EU AML framework needs to be strengthened ‘now’; hopes AMLA proceedings will not imitate EPPO which took ‘far too long’ to become operational

A member of the European Parliament has warned that the EU’s anti-money laundering framework needs to be strengthened “now”. 

Speaking as part of the European Court of Auditors conference on the ‘New EU AML/CFT supervisory model’, Ramona Strugariu Renew Europe Group MEP stressed: “While we are negotiating, new ways are being developed, new flows of money are coming into the union and there are new challenges to crypto asset service providers.”
