The Financial Intelligence Unit of Latvia (FIU) has been awarded the Best Egmont Case Award (BECA) for “exceptional work” in the field of financial intelligence.

The BECA award was first introduced in 2011, was implemented to encourage Egmont members to contribute to the group’s AML/CFT case database, and is awarded to the FIU which demonstrates “exceptional work in a case which is both interesting and educative.”
