EU ambassadors will today consider adding Russia’s largest lender Sberbank to the bloc’s latest sanctions update.
Sberbank, which was removed from the SWIFT payments system as part of the last package, will have all assets frozen in the West and will completely prevent transactions with the exception of financial operations for the trade in food and fertiliser.
