LATEST: Europol warns of increased use of crowdfunding and crypto by terrorist financiers in latest report

By Elizabeth Hearst for AMLi

In its latest EU Terrorism Situation and Trend Report, the agency said that an increased availability of crowdfunding websites, which provides opportunities to reach a large number of donors and quickly raise considerable amounts of money makes this forum “attractive to terrorist and extremist organisations.”
