NEWS: EU agrees landmark MiCA regulation on crypto; France’s Finance Minister promises rules will ‘put an end’ to ‘crypto wild west’

The EU has agreed a landmark regulation on crypto-assets, which will bring crypto-assets, crypto-assets issuers and service providers under a regulatory framework for the first time.

The Council of the EU last night reached a provisional agreement on the markets in crypto-assets (MiCA) proposal, which will cover issuers of unbacked crypto-assets and “stablecoins”.
