Several EU Member States including some of Russia’s EU neighbours have called for harsher sanctions on Moscow, with some leaders calling for a seventh sanctions package just days after the latest hard-won package was agreed.
Countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland have called on faster and tougher economic sanctions on Russia since its invasion of Ukraine in February, while other gas-dependent Member States remain tentative over imposing further sanctions.
