US Judge fines Chinese billionaire $1.8BN (€1.7BN) aluminium fraud

A US judge has ordered six companies linked to Chinese Billionaire Liu Zhongtian to pay a restitution of $1.83BN (€1.7BN) for misrepresenting aluminium shipments to avoid paying customs duties.

The companies concealed aluminium as pallets to avoid paying duties, exported them to the US and then inflated sales to deceive investors.
