300 UK crypto firms investigated by FCA last year: Executive Director says the data shows how prevalent scams can be

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) opened 300 investigations into unauthorised cryptocurrency operators in six months last year and the agency is investigating 50 unauthorised businesses in the United Kingdom. 

According to the FCA, hundreds of investigations opened during the six months last year involved scams, while digital asset frauds reported to its anti-scam website increased by half.
