General Court of European Union upholds ECB decision to withdraw licence of Pilatus Bank

The General Court of the European Union has dismissed an appeal against the European Central Bank’s decision to withdraw the banking licence of Maltese-based Pilatus Bank. 

In 2018, the ECB withdrew the bank’s authorisation to act as a credit institution following accusations that the bank was laundering funds on behalf of offshore companies.
