BREAKING: FinCEN Deputy Director AnnaLou Tirol joins the line up of trailblazing speakers at ‘Women In FinCrime’ Summit

ONE of the world’s top Anti-Financial Crime trailblazers is joining the ‘Women in FinCrime’ Summit on March 3 next, it was announced today.

AnnaLou Tirol, Deputy Director at the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) will be delivering a Keynote Address at the AML Intelligence Summit on March 3, the US Treasury Department confirmed this morning.  

Ms Tirol joins a stellar line up of international speakers at the summit next month.

AnnLou previously served as Associate Director for FinCEN’s Strategic Operations Division, responsible for designing and implementing FinCEN’s strategic partnerships and stakeholder priorities. 

Prior to joining FinCEN, she served as Acting Chief of the Public Integrity Section of the US Department of Justice, and worked with the US DOJ’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training as the Anti-Corruption Resident Legal Advisor in Serbia and Panama specialising in anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing.

Last week it was announced that Ireland’s Minister for Justice Helen McEntee will officially open the summit. 

Other leading speakers on the European Plenary include:

  • Chair of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, Hennie Verbeek-Kusters
  • Head of the Financial Crime Unit at DG-FISMA, Raluca Pruna
  • Ilze Znotiņa, Director of Latvia’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)
  • Daniëlle Goudriaan, a European Prosecutor at the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. 

Speaking from the United States will be:

  • Professor of FinCrime at the Middlebury Institute, Moyara Ruehsen. 

We are also delighted to be joined by Sujata Dasgupta, Global Head of Financial Crimes Compliance Advisory at Tata Consultancy Services. 

Joining from Hong Kong will be Rekha Modi Gomes, Global Head of Risk Operations at HSBC, bringing nearly 30 years experience in the financial services industry. 

Also joining our panel discussions will be Suneeta Shetty, Global Head of Transaction Monitoring Operations & Centre Director at GSC Poland, for HSBC. 

The third AML Intelligence Women In FinCrime Summit, held in celebration of International Women’s Day will bring together outstanding leaders and regulators from across the world. The event will have two plenary sessions – time for European and US audiences.
