The Director of the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has called for an AML/CFT regime that “reflects modern national security needs” in 2022.

Speaking as part of the ABA/ABA Financial Crimes Enforcement Conference, Himamauli Das warned that “counterterrorism will always be a core priority”, but revealed there was a “far broader set of criminals who use [the US] financial system to facilitate their bad acts”.
