LATEST: EU to make it easier to deploy sanctions; majority vote will secure sanctions on countries that ‘interfere’ with ‘sovereign choices’ of EU

The EU is this week set to introduce a radical trade sanctions protocol that will allow the bloc introduce sanctions against countries or individuals in a more flexible way.

The European Commission was today meeting at its Monday ‘Hebdo’ conference to finalise the proposed new law which will be published later this week.
