Austrian security advisor departs defence ministry as mounting evidence links him with Wirecard COO Jan Marselek

An Austrian government official has left his role providing national strategic military advice as concerns about his relationship to one of Europe’s most wanted men continue.

Brigadier Gustav Gustenau now no longer leads the Austrian Defence Ministry’s Security Policy office, the Financial Times reported Thursday. Instead, he will take on an unspecified research role in the National Defence Academy.
