Commonwealth Bank expected to send 100 compliance and tech roles to India as Bank says it ‘struggles’ to find talent locally

By Elizabeth Hearst for AMLi

Australia’s Commonwealth Bank (CBA) is expected to relocate 100 technology, compliance and service roles to India early next year.

The decision has sparked outrage from the country’s finance union who have said 100 local jobs will be cut during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Executive General Manager at CBA, Simon Birch reportedly told staff in July of the plans, and revealed CBA “struggles to find talent locally”, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
