‘Significant’ numbers of crypto firms have not met UK’s AML standards and/or withdrawn their applications to operate in Britain

Many crypto firms have withdrawn their applications to operate in the United Kingdom after being told their AML standards were sub-par, according to the country’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

In addition, several firms have been publicly flagged as ‘operating without registration’ within Britain’s borders, with consumers previously having been warned not to do business with them, given the risk of losing their investments.
