LATEST: Acting AML Chief of European Banking Authority, Carolin Gardner, joins stellar line-up of speakers for July 22 event

By Elizabeth Hearst for AMLi

The acting head of European Banking Authority’s AML body, Carolin Gardner is joining our stellar line-up of speakers for the upcoming AML Intelligence Breakfast Boardroom Series on July 22.

Gardner will join Director General of the European Commission’s DG FISMA, John Berrigan, Chief Privacy Officer at the London Stock Exchange Group, Vivienne Artz OBE and General Director of the Danish FSA, Jesper Berg at this unmissable event for compliance professionals.

‘Europe’s AML Regime Explained’ is scheduled less than 48 hours after the publication of the European Commission’s AML action plan, with Mr. Berrigan expected to outline the detail behind the headlines of the adoption rollout.

The special July 22 conference will hear about the Single Supervisor, Single Rule Book, new crypto laws, co-operation plans for the bloc’s FIUs and how the EU’s new cash transaction limits will work.

To book tickets for this event or any of the upcoming Breakfast Boardroom Series conferences you can purchase individual tickets or subscribe to the introductory AML Intelligence premium content offer for the special €1 introductory offer.

Gardner joined the EBA in 2015, before taking up her role as Acting Head of Unit (AML/CFT) earlier this year. Prior to joining the EBA, Gardner spent nearly ten years at the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority as a Senior Policy Associate and Technical Specialist.

In June, Gardner gave an exclusive interview with AML Intelligence, discussing the poor understanding of crypto, the challenges of a risk-based approach and the future of anti-financial crime in Europe.

AML Intelligence subscribers meanwhile have access to premium content, thought leadership, FREE access to all Boardroom Series events, as well as a bi-weekly newsletter for just €1 for the first month, €19pm thereafter.
