The threat of exposure to financial crime has been a core issue for the European Banking Authority as it reviews its stance on internal governance.

A final report on associated guidelines – published Friday – has re-assessed the role of AML/CFT systems within financial institutions, and highlighted their importance in preserving a reliable economy.
