Council of Europe hits out at Romania’s anti-corruption measures; warns levels of compliance remain ‘very low,’ and calls for more action

Romania’s efforts to combat corruption at its highest government levels remain ‘globally unsatisfactory’ according to a new report.

The country’s ability to root out foul play amongst its lawyers, judges, even members of parliament, has been called into question again, over five years after the country was given recommendations to fix the problem.
