CYBERSECURITY: Europe ‘far behind’ US and Asia in cyber says leading MEP, while Interpol head calls for a ‘multiagency approach’ in law enforcement

Most major tech companies operating in Europe are either US-based or Asian, which exposes Europe’s own cybersecurity vulnerabilities, Kelleher (right) said.

EUROPE has been a laggard in the cloud space compared to the United States and Asia that exposes it to significant threats from cybercriminals, thinks MEP Billy Kelleher

Kelleher, who is a member of the economic and monetary affairs committee known as ECON, said this is largely due to a brain drain from Europe to the US that began decades ago and hasn’t stopped since.
