The European Banking Authority has today launched a public consultation on proposed changes to its guidelines on Risk-Based Supervision of credit and financial institutions and their compliance with AML/CFT regimes.

These amendments are seen as a tool to “address the key obstacles to effective AML/CFT supervision” identified during a recent review of the EBA’s current guidelines, which highlighted the “effective use of different supervisory tools to meet the supervisory objectives”.
