Brazil only aware of ‘fraction’ of €113BN that its citizens and residents invest in Luxembourg; #OpenLux data names prominent officials previously linked to money laundering

Only a fraction of investments made by Brazilians in Luxembourg till the end of last year was known to Brazilian authorities, it has emerged.

Data from the OpenLux investigations has revealed that Brazilian citizens had invested at least €113BN in Luxembourg by the end of 2020, but when investigators behind OpenLux cross-referenced their findings with the Central Bank of Brazil, the bank didn’t know about all of it.
