
Netherlands: EPPO concludes subsidy fraud case with punitive order in cancer research projects

(Luxembourg, 19 March 2026) – The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) in Rotterdam (Netherlands) has concluded an investigation into EU subsidy fraud related to cancer research projects, following the issuance of a punitive order against one individual. The sanction consists of 60 hours of community service and a fine of €10 000. The case concerns health and innovation projects funded under the Eurostars programme for SMEs, co-funded by the EU.
