ACROSS the EU, UK and US, regulators are putting greater emphasis on whether controls work in practice, not just whether firms comply with formal requirements.
Can firms still rely on siloed, rules-based monitoring? A new webinar will explore how institutions can modernize their anti-financial crime (AFC) operations.
The webinar, hosted by msg for banking ag, will feature an expert panel to examine how institutions can combine established rules with technology such as machine learning and AI.

The webinar will take place on 12 November at 10am CET (UTC+01) and is free to attend.
It will focus on how banks and financial institutions can modernize their compliance systems across four key areas
- ‘Converged intelligence’ – integrating anti-money laundering (AML), fraud and conduct monitoring
- Maintaining up-to-date customer and counterparty risk assessments
- Improving detection and investigation workflows
- Turning alerts into prioritised, explainable decisions.
Dirk Findeisen, managing partner of msg Rethink Compliance, will lead the discussion. Other speakers include Emanuel Gedeon, executive partner at msg for banking; Alexander Stein, principal business consultant at msg Rethink Compliance; and Martin Wagner, a division manager at msg Rethink Compliance.
The speakers will draw on their experience in advisory, technology implementation and digital compliance services to outline how firms can modernise their compliance systems.
They will also give practical examples of how international institutions use automation, AI and cloud-based services to make their AFC operations more effective and scalable.
