AUSTRAC, Australia’s financial crime regulator, has removed 45 remittance and virtual asset service providers (VASPs) from its registers over the past year.

The regulator cancelled, suspended or refused to renew their registrations. AUSTRAC said the actions targeted businesses which “involved significant money laundering or terrorism financing risk”.
